After spending several years in content development and video production, these videos are a curated selection of my favorites from my work at Donohoe Construction Company and Kent Place School. Some of my favorites are What NOT to Do on a Construction Site for Safety Week 2018, and my collection of marketing videos for Kent Place School. Take a look around and enjoy!
These videos were created for marketing Kent Place School by showcasing different programs and the community mindset the school fosters.
This video celebrates the beginning of the 2021–2022 school year. It served as a highlight reel for the internal Kent Place Community, and was used for digital ad purposes for the new admission cycle.
As the 2020–2021 school year wound down, the Head of School at Kent Place spoke with the Preschoolers about what they had learned while in Pre-K and if they were excited for Kindergarten. This video was used in ads for the Preschool at Kent Place for the 2021–2022 admission season.
Put together in 48 hours, this video was created after coordinating video submissions from almost 50 members of the Kent Place faculty and staff. Its purpose was to welcome the students “back” from spring break with a smile, and to establish a sense of community as the country went into lockdown.
This video was created with the Fifth Grade Ambassadors as they gave a tour of the primary school to accepted students at Kent Place. With COVID-19, no students were able to come to campus, so this video served as a way to welcome new students to the community.
During the pandemic, Kent Place relied upon video to bring the community together and celebrate different holidays and student accomplishments.
As there were no live performances in 2020, the Kent Place choir members recorded their parts to the song Will the Circle Be Unbroken which was then edited into this virtual performance video.
After a call for submissions from the Kent Place community and help from the Kent Place dance students, this video was edited together and sent back out to the community for mid-lockdown fun.
In the absence of in-person celebration, Jewish members of the Kent Place community sent in videos to share what Hanukkah means to each of them. This video was sent out to mark the holiday.
In the absence of in-person celebration, community members of color sent in videos to mark Black History Month on the theme “Black History is American History.”

The first week of May is Construction Safety Week. Donohoe Construction had not previously done anything on social media to mark this occasion. I created this video series entitled “What NOT to do On Site” and worked with our safety team to highlight relevant safety issues within the industry, how to portray them in a fun light, and how to film the videos safely on an active construction site.
What NOT to do on Site was awarded a Marketing and Communication Award by the Society for Marketing and Professional Services.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an integral part of of safety on a construction site and should be worn by all workers and visitors to the site. While not an issue, hard hats and safety vests are important pieces of equipment and symbols for the construction industry.
Ladder safety was our catch-all for all issues regarding reaching high places when working on a site. We wanted to emphasize the importance of reaching heights safely without risk of injury.
A Donohoe Construction favorite, this video covered on-site security. An unexpected consequence of this video is that people regularly ask me about my dinosaur onesie.
Tool safety is always a good idea on a construction site.
While it is important to enjoy your time at work, it is more important to be safe. The first half of this video was later turned into a gif and used for other social media and marketing content.
Donohoe Construction offers a comprehensive, college internship program for rising juniors and seniors. For the 2018 career fair season, we interviewed alumni from Penn State, Virginia Tech, and UMD and sent these videos out to the students at each school prior to meeting with them at the career fair.
I interviewed Penn State alumni Neil and Brian about working at Donohoe Construction. We sent this video out to Penn State students prior to meeting them at the fall engineering career fair.
University of Maryland alumni Abdul, Megan, and Emily gave their thoughts on Donohoe Construction. We sent this video out to Maryland students prior to meeting them at the fall engineering career fair.
Virginia Tech alumni Tom, Samantha, and Rob were interviewed about working for Donohoe Construction. This video was sent out to students we were interested in hiring after the career fair.
Women in Construction is the first week of March and is celebrated throughout the construction industry. I interviewed four young women at Donohoe Construction about their experience in the industry and advice they have for women looking to work in construction.
Maria, a project engineer at Donohoe, talks about her experience in the construction industry.
Michaele, a project engineer at Donohoe Construction talks about her experience in the construction industry.
Danielle, a project engineer in Donohoe Construction’s Specialty division, discusses her experience in construction.
Lauren, an estimator for Donohoe Construction, talks about her experience in the construction industry.
For the second year, I worked with the Safety Team to do another series of What NOT to do On Site.
If someone gets injured, it is important to get medical care immediately. We can’t have blood attracting vampires on construction sites.
A follow up to the previous year’s ladder safety video, we wanted to ensure that our staff follow proper procedure when working in high places.
A follow up to the previous year’s dancing video, we decided to showcase other kinds of antics that would not be allowed on a construction site.
As personal protective equipment is an important part of safety on site, we wanted to feature it in another safety video.
Trash disposal is an important issue on construction sites as piles can block important walk areas and get in the way of work. The safety team wanted to highlight this issue in the 2019 What NOT to do On Site series.
Unemployment within the DC construction industry is incredibly low, with more jobs available than people to fill them. To boost our marketing and remain competitive with large players in the industry, I interviewed employees in all field and project management related jobs. The videos are sent out to potential candidates, linked on jobs, and used for general recruitment marketing.

While interviewing alumni for the college recruitment videos, I asked employees what advice they have for their young selves. I took all of those pieces of advice and compiled them into a video that we promoted on social media at the end of the summer internship program.
This gif was created to showcase some of the universities that our staff attended to celebrate college decision day and the new students that will eventually join us in the workforce.
This video was sent out to subcontractors and clients in an email for Thanksgiving to express our gratitude for the work we did with them in 2018. It was also posted on social media for our followers to see.
